LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network with over 47 million members and growing rapidly. It is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world. It lets you connect to your trusted contacts and helps you exchange ideas, knowledge and opportunities.
Due to the fact that LinkedIn is a rapidly growing network, it has developed into a useful lead generation tool for marketers and sales people. Below are some guidelines that if applied and done on consistent basis will generate leads for your business:
Complete your profile:
LinkedIn is not like any other social networking sites. In LinkedIn, you have to upload a high quality image of yourself. Make sure to fill out your profile completely, the more you share about yourself the less it’s going to show to others that you are a spammer.
Asking and making recommendations:
Recommendations are a big deal to your profile. It helps you gain credibility of your expertise. The more recommendations you have, the better.
Reconnect:
Reconnect with your former friends or colleagues. This way, you can get more exposure and build your connections into a bigger community a bit faster.
Join groups:
By joining different groups, you’ll be getting a massive exposure and potentially have an access to high quality leads. Try to join groups that have at least 10, 000 members who are actively working on their LinkedIn accounts.
Create your own LinkedIn group and share relevant content:
It gives you control over its content and reach if you start your own group. You can open the group only to people you know. If appropriate, you can also open it up to a larger audience if you have time. Engaging your audience and leveraging your thoughts about leadership is your goal to make a difference with members of your group.
Use the power of articles:
Write quality articles then post your written articles on your own groups and groups that you are member off. Make sure to post articles relevant to the groups or you will be considered as a spammer. Readers like quality articles so make sure to write only articles that will educate or give helpful information.
Asking and answering questions:
Learn how to interact within your groups. There will be times that you will receive questions from the articles that you have posted. To show that you are real and to give respect to your readers, make sure to take the time to answer those questions and connect with your readers. This way, there’s a possibility that they will check out your profile and would want to connect with you and find out what you are all about.
Post comments:
By posting comments, you are not only proving that you are an active LinkedIn user but also someone who is real. This is also a great way to get recognized an active discussion.
Learn to engage your new connections:
You have to have an initiative. When someone commented or visited your profile, take your time to respond to their comments and connect to them. Once someone gave feedback on your article, it is a proof that you’ve added value to them and you have added something in their mind by your article.
Update:
Bear in mind that marketing should be in a regular basis to get a positive result. It is not enough that you have posted an article but you have to do it at least once a day. If you have forgotten to post one then do not let a week pass without posting another or else your existence will be forgotten.
